BGL Healthcare & Life Sciences Insider — Provider Services M&A Activity Shows Signs of Warmth as the Market Recalibrates

Insider HLS Provider Services 2026 WEB COVER

While market recovery in Provider Services remains well below historical highs, signs of a thaw are emerging after a prolonged slowdown through 2025. The combination of site of service considerations, investor and provider incentive alignment strategies, AI adoption, and the increased prevalence of alternative payment methodologies is driving renewed investor interest in the sector, according to an industry report released by the Healthcare & Life Sciences investment banking team at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL).

BGL Managing Director Kyle Brown: “Q1 and Q3 pitch activity was strong, and throughout the year, many deals moved into work-up or towards market, including awarded mandates that were on hold as the majority recapitalization market appeared relatively dormant from 2023 through 2025. More than 100 sponsor-backed provider services assets are now over six years into their initial hold period. These are assets that needed to trade in 2023 through 2026.”

In the report, BGL examines the key trends renewing private equity and strategic appetite for the sector.

Key provider services industry trends in the report include:

  • Shift toward lower-cost sites of care is expanding patient access, creating growth opportunities, and attracting investors
  • Evolving provider and investor alignment as investors opt for more flexible equity arrangements and economic incentives
  • The use of technology driving efficiencies within provider businesses
  • Alternative payment methods are creating new revenue opportunities for providers

BGL Transportation Insider — Transportation & Logistics Enters Early Growth Cycle as Market Dynamics Evolve

T&L Insider Oct 2026 COVER WEB

After the longest freight downturn in modern trucking history, the transportation and logistics industry is reaching a long-awaited rebound. The combination of constrained capacity and expanding infrastructure-driven demand supports the recovery, according to an industry report released by the Transportation & Logistics Infrastructure investment banking team at Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL).

BGL Managing Director Craig Decker: “2027 may be less about a traditional cyclical rebound and more about the beginning of a structurally tighter, infrastructure-led growth environment, which is creating opportunities for well-capitalized TSPs to benefit from improving rates, pursue strategic M&A, and position themselves for the next leg of industry expansion.”

BGL Director Enrico J. Certo: “The distinction [between previous recoveries] is important because it may mean this new growth cycle will prove more durable than previous cycles. Rather than relying on accelerating freight demand, T&L markets are benefiting from a materially smaller capacity base. As shipment growth gradually returns through manufacturing, reshoring, and infrastructure investment, carriers will benefit from both volume growth and a structurally tighter capacity environment.”

In the report, BGL examines the emerging opportunities for private equity and infrastructure investors in the maritime defense sector and the recent deal activity that illustrates a range of capital strategies.

Key transportation industry trends in the report include:

  • Data center construction and nearshoring are creating new freight flows and reshaping transportation corridors.
  • A shift in PE attention towards HALO logistics and Amazon entry into the LTL market, likely impacting technology investment and strategic M&A activity.
  • The regulatory shifts impacting capacity, raising compliance costs and creating an advantage for well-capitalized carriers with strong safety records.
  • Why specialized equipment, terminal networks, and technology-enabled services are becoming increasingly valuable in a changing competitive landscape.
