BGL Announces Global M&A Transaction in Environmental Services

Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL), the United States office of Global M&A, one of the world’s leading independent M&A advisory firms, today announced the acquisition by German company IDS GmbH of 100% of the shares of CAIGOS GmbH located in Kirkel.

CAIGOS is a leading developer of geographic information systems (GIS) and corresponding applications primarily for municipalities, utilities, and waste management companies. With the acquisition, IDS gains know-how in the field of GIS and the basic technologies CAIGOS-GIS and CAIGOS-Globe, which is expected to bring significant technological advances in graphical based network control and management systems. IDS expects that GIS-based IT solutions for the management of utility networks will play a significant role in optimizing business processes within network planning, operations, maintenance, and fault clearance.

IDS GmbH specializes in grid management, automation, and telecontrol engineering, as well as IT solutions for supporting network operations for the utility and waste management industries. In 2010, the company had 340 employees and generated sales of approximately € 45 million.
