BGL Expands Investment Banking and Real Estate Teams

Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL) is expanding its team of professionals, announcing a promotion and several new hires in the firm’s Investment Banking and Real Estate groups. “Our firm is experiencing significant growth,” said Michael E. Gibbons, founder and senior managing director. “We will continue to add talented individuals to our team in order to meet the needs of our clients across all of our industry practices.”

Kurt A. Kautman has been promoted to associate. Kurt joined BGL as a senior analyst in 2014 and quickly took on increasing responsibilities in transaction execution, working with a broad spectrum of industrial sector clients. His previous experience includes associate positions at McGladrey and Cross Keys Capital. Kurt received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Dubuque. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant.

James M. Cocita joins the Cleveland office as an associate. Prior to joining BGL, Jim was an associate at Candlewood Partners, and before that, a senior research associate at Northcoast Research, an institutional equity research firm. Jim earned an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University. John T. Jameson joins BGL’s Chicago office as an associate. John was previously an associate with Rippe & Kingston Capital Advisors. He received an MBA from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers University. In their previous positions, both Jim and John worked with clients from a broad range of industries executing both M&A and capital raising transactions.

Joining the Cleveland office as analysts are Sean T. Edmonson, Eric H. Eschliman, and Andrew R. Vento. Sean was formerly an analyst in the Commercial Banking group of Wells Fargo Bank. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting, and Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. Eric is a recent graduate of the Farmer School of Business at Miami University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Andrew rejoins BGL after participating in the firm’s summer 2014 internship program. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from Ohio State University.

The Chicago office welcomes analysts Raghav Chadha, Jacob M. Newman, Scott A. Rehnquist, and Orest Ryvak. Raghav joins BGL from DaVita Healthcare Partners. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Illinois. Jacob and Scott rejoin BGL after participating in the firm’s summer 2014 internship program. They are recent graduates of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with majors in Accounting and Finance. Orest received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

BGL Real Estate Advisors (BGLREA) is joined by Daniel A. DiCarro as vice president and Jamie M. Dunford as analyst. Dan was previously a founding partner with Carela Developments Investors and before that served as a Peripheral Land Director with DDR Corp. Dan received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance from Ohio University. Jamie was previously an analyst with Candlewood Partners. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Canisius College.

Joining BGL Real Estate Partners (BGLREP), the firm’s investment sales advisory practice, are William E. Montana and Christopher D. Sackley as managing directors in the Multifamily Group and Andrew R. Larwood and Allen C. Inman as senior associates in the Healthcare Group. Together, William and Christopher have completed nearly $3 billion in transactions involving multifamily real estate acquisitions, investment sales, and debt and equity recapitalizations. Andrew joins BGLREP from the healthcare capital markets group of a national healthcare real estate advisory firm. Allen was previously a hedge fund analyst.
