BGL Appoints Tom Denison Senior Managing Director, Co-Head of Chicago Office

Brown Gibbons Lang & Company, a leading independent middle market investment bank, announced today that Thomas C. Denison joined the firm as senior managing director and co-head of the Chicago office on March 9, 2007.
Denison joins BGL from Banc of America Securities LLC in Chicago. He has over 27 years of investment banking and corporate and leveraged finance experience and over 20 years of leadership and managerial experience in a variety of positions with both Banc of America Securities and Bank of America. Notably, he headed Banc of America Securities’ Mid-Cap Investment Banking Group, a team of senior bankers focused on generating investment banking transactions with middle market clients and private equity firms nationwide.

“We are experiencing a terrific start to 2007, BGL currently has seven new deals in the marketplace and our Global M&A platform continues to hit on all cylinders as evidenced by having closed two deals already this year. It is a busy and exciting time at BGL. The addition of Tom will only add to this momentum. He exudes energy and commitment to his clients and individuals around him. He will be an ideal fit for BGL and he will enhance our continuously growing global capabilities and services,” Michael E. Gibbons, senior managing director & principal, BGL, said.

In his nearly three decades in this industry, Denison has completed a broad range of financial advisory assignments focused on value creation, including M&A services, leveraged buyouts and equity and debt capital raising on behalf of public and private clients, and private equity firms. “He has established himself as a highly respected banker and a prominent leader in the middle market,” H. Glen Clarke, managing director and co-head of the BGL Chicago office, said.

“As well as being a Managing Director within Banc of America Securities’ Business Services Group, Tom has significant deal experience within the environmental and real estate service sectors. His knowledge of these sectors and relationships with companies within these industries, will allow him to create numerous investment banking opportunities for BGL,” Clarke added.

“BGL is the premier middle market investment bank in the country. It offers unmatched talent and global reach. I am delighted to join this team of select professionals and look forward to expanding these internationally recognized services,” Denison said.

Denison received his B.A. and M.B.A. from Dartmouth College. He has been active in Chicago civic activities. He currently serves as a Trustee and on the Executive Committee of The Hadley School for the Blind, and is a Trustee of the Jane Addams Hull House Association.
